Driver's License Renewal Instructions


Driver’s license information retrieval and verification:

  1. Enter your driver’s license number, birth date, and issued date on the renewal application form. These values can be found on your driver’s license.
  2. Click the “Submit” button and wait for 2 to 5 seconds for it to retrieve your driver’s license information.
  3. Verify that the information displayed is indeed your driver’s license.

Entering the driver’s license renewal application form:

  1. If it is correct, then fill up the application form. As you select the “Renewal Term” and “Deliver” the Charges box is refreshed with the correct charges. Charges box is at the bottom of the application form
  2. After entering your email address click on “Send Email Address Confirmation Code”. You should receive this email within 5 seconds.
  3. Check your email and copy and paste the email address confirmation code to the “Confirmation Code” text box. If you do not get the email, it may be in the Junk Email folder.
  4. Please note that only driver's license holder can receive the driver's license. Also you must accept the disclaimer. Click the disclaimer link to open it.
  5. Once you agree and accept #7 check the “I agree/accept” check box.
  6. Click the “Submit” button, which is located below the Charge box.

Payment for driver’s license renewal:

  1. Verify that the Amount charge is correct
  2. Enter your credit card information
  3. Click on “Authorize Payment” button

Successfully renewed your driver’s license:

  1. A thank you page is displayed.

Failed to renew your driver’s license:

  1. An error code with error message is displayed. Contact Belize City Council for assistance.

FAQ:

  1. How many years can I renew my driver's license?


    You can renew your driver's license for a maximum 3 years.
  2. Is credit card the only valid option to use the renewal service?


    At the moment, the service only accepts credit card payment. Currently debit card or bank accounts are not valid.They may become available at a later date.
  3. Does your system keep my credit card information?


    No. Your credit card information is not saved in our system.
  4. Whom do I contact in the case of any credit card issues?


    All issues regarding credit card approval and information can be resolved by contacting Atlantic Bank LTD.
  5. Do I have to wait until my driver's license to expire to renew my license?


    No. You can renew 30 days before your license expires.
  6. Can I renew my driver's license if I still owe property tax?


    No. Your driver's license will be block from the renewal system.
  7. Can I apply for my driver's license online?


    No. You must check with traffic department to obtain a learner's permit.
  8. Can I renew my driver’s license if it is lost, stolen or damaged?


    No. A lost,damaged or stolen driver's license can only be replaced at the Belize City Council Traffic Department.
  9. My license has not yet expired but I want to renew my license. Can I renew my license for additional years through the online service?


    No. If your driver's license is not expired or within the renewal period it cannot be renewed online.
  10. Can i renew my learner's permit online?


    No. A learner's permit must be renewed at the Belize City Council Traffic department.
  11. I am over 70 years old and I cannot renew my license online. How can I resolve this issue?


    You must check with Belize City Council Traffic Department and fill out an additional form. Individuals over the age of 70 must renew their driver's license at the Belize City Council Traffic Department.
  12. I did not receive a confirmation code from the renewal website. How can I resolve this issue?


    Solution 1. Check your spam folder to locate the confirmation code. Some email clients may consider the email as spam.
    Solution 2. Try clicking the Send Confirmation Code again to receive another confirmation code.
    Solution 3. Verify that the email address that you have supplied is correct.
    Solution 4. Contact the Traffic Department for further support.
  13. How can I verify that my license has been renewed by using the online service?


    A copy of the receipt is sent via email to the email address supplied during the email confirmation process. Present this receipt upon collecting your driver's license along with your old driver's license.
  14. I did not receive a receipt for the service. How can I resolve this issue?


    Contact the Belize City Council Traffic Department for support.
  15. Is international delivery available?


    At the moment, international delivery is not available. Currently deliveries are made only within the city limits.
  16. How much is charged for delivery?


    A fee of $10.00 bze is charged for delivery.
  17. How long will it take to deliver my driver’s license?


    Your driver's license will be available for Delivery within 3 business days.
  18. I renewed my license online. How long must I wait to pick up my driver's license?


    Your driver's license will be available within 3 business days.
  19. What do I need upon collecting my driver's license?


    You will need the following:
    1.A copy of the receipt sent via email to the email address supplied during the email confirmation process.
    2.Your old driver's license.
  20. Am I required to sign any document upon delivery of my driver's license?


    The delivery personnel will require you to sign two document. These documents are:
    1.Delivery confirmation letter.
    2.Driver's license renewal verification form.
  21. Am I required to submit my old driver's license upon delivery of my driver's license?


    Yes. We ask that you submit your old driver's license
  22. Whom do I need to check with to pick up my driver's license?


    The security guard will direct you to the personnel in charge of issuing driver's license.
  23. Can I drive with the receipt from the online renewal service?


    Yes. You can drive with the online renewal service receipt.
  24. What do I do if there are problems renewing my driver's license?


    Contact the Traffic Department for support.
  25. I did not receive my driver's license and it has been past 3 days. How can I resolve this issue?

  26. I do not owe any tax, yet my driver's license is block. How can I resolve this issue?
